Why Choose Latah Creek Animal Hospital?
Fear Free Care
Our team is passionate about going above and beyond to safeguard the emotional wellbeing of pets both at home and at the vet. The Fear Free concept is based on recognizing and taking steps to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress associated with visits to the veterinary hospital and stress at home related to medical care. Each individual team member at Latah Creek Animal Hospital is Fear Free Certified, and in addition, we are a Fear Free Certified Practice, meaning that the hospital has also completed additional training and testing to ensure that your pet has a minimum of fear and stress during their visit. Our techniques include gentle handling techniques, treats, and positive reinforcement, and environmental management (use of pheromones, reduction of noise, etc). In addition, we have a cat-only room that is further specialized to keep our feline friends comfortable.

Unique Business Structure
Latah Creek Animal Hospital has been a locally owned business for more than 20 years. Recently, we have restructured our ownership team to what we believe is an ideal model. We continue to be locally owned, and now our ownership team is composed of both Dr. Megan Bauer (Veterinarian) and Jessica Osborne (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and Certified Veterinary Business Leader). This model is ideal for both team members and clients, who benefit from their combined expertise in offering gold standard medical care, a healthy team culture, and a well-run business.
Personalized Care
At Latah Creek Animal Hospital, we treat dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, guinea pigs, and other pocket pets. Our team is committed to providing personalized care to each patient that we see. We give each patient our undivided attention during their visit. We pride ourselves on building relationships with our clients, and we will work with you to meet your goals for each visit.
Our Team
When choosing Latah Creek, you are choosing a small business that cares about the health and wellbeing of their team members. We offer fair wages and amazing benefits to each person that works here. This provides a better work environment and our team is happy to come to work every day. It is part of our mission to make sure that our team feels fulfilled in their career choice while being able to provide for their families and live a happy, healthy life outside of work.
In addition, we feel strongly that our team has access to educational opportunities for continued growth and success. We want each team member to feel valued in the positions they hold and proud of their contributions to our patients’ care. Our patients have the opportunity to have certain appointments with our licensed veterinary nurses, and our clients with questions will often get the expertise of our nurses during phone consults.
Community
We are passionate about giving back to the community through education and community events. We love being part of the Spokane community! We participate in and host various events throughout the year. For example, we hosted our first Kids Day in 2021, which is a free program for children aged 8-12. Children were invited behind the scenes for a hands-on look at veterinary medicine, including learning about parasites, radiographs, physical exams, and surgery. Look for more Kids Days in 2022, and for more fun events to be planned this year as COVID restrictions allow!
