Pre-Sedation Bloodwork

Bloodwork performed before sedation can help determine how effectively your dog's organs can eliminate the sedatives that are to be used. It also sets baseline values for comparison at a later date if necessary. Bloodwork is especially important in older dogs or those with a history of illness. Sedatives used may be adjusted or the procedure may be postponed based on the results of these tests, thus decreasing the risk to your dog. Recommended for all dogs, strongly recommended for dogs 7 years and older.

If your dog is fearful, anxious or stressed while here, despite pre-visit sedation, additional medications may be administered with an additional fee to keep your dog calm while he/she is here.

Authorization

I hereby authorize Latah Creek Animal Hospital to treat, sedate, and/or perform a procedure on my animal. I recognize the risks involved with sedation, including death. I understand that all reasonable precautions against injury, escape or death will be used. Successful treatment is the goal of all procedures but is neither guaranteed nor assured. I further acknowledge that refusal of any recommended procedure removes any liability from the doctors and staff of Latah Creek Animal Hospital. *
