Latah Creek Animal Hospital would love to see your rabbit, ferret, guinea pig, or other small mammals. Exotic pets are unique in that they have not been traditionally kept as pets for nearly as long as dogs or cats. They often have special husbandry and diet requirements. Exotic pets also tend to mask and hide signs of illness or disease better than dogs or cats. For this reason, we typically recommend exotic pets receive exams more often. When identified early, diseases and husbandry problems can typically be treated and lead to a longer, healthier life for your exotic pet.

If your exotic pet is ever acting abnormal, not eating, drinking, or lethargic we recommend bringing them in right away for an exam.
